/// hello my name is
based in Portland, Oregon. She grew up outside of Atlanta, Georgia and began her career like most do, on stage. What she loved particularly about rehearsing for local plays was the improv process of letting loose, creating scenes and characters off the cuff, releasing yourself from limitations, and allowing comedy to naturally occur. It wasn't very long after she started acting that she immediately found her sweet spot in the industry.
She has been a part of various troupes all over the nation. In Atlanta, Katie helped found Bam!Prov. When she relocated to Alaska for an adventurous and spontaneous summer, with delight she was introduced to Tangled Lines Improv and easily adjusted into the family. She performed with this group for two seasons. After moving to her new home in Portland, Oregon, Katie founded Silver Spork Comedy with a few local actors, and performed experimental and uniquely funny comedy sets at the triangle productions! cabaret space.
Katie has been trained by some of the most talented and recognized coaches of their field. While in Atlanta, Katie was trained on On Camera Improv with actor Dave Pileggi. She was also coached on Character Development by Amelia Bahr, who originally taught at BYU. Katie was lucky enough to connect with actress Julia Albain of Chicago comedy troupe, Starkid for one on one coaching sessions. After moving to Portland, Katie has since worked with actor and coach Tim True, and is a member of The Actors Lab taught by actress and coach Kristina Haddad.
